Only God Can Make Friends Into Sisters

A friend loveth at all times... Prov 17:17

Monday, July 19, 2010

Dear Cathy,

I was prompted this morning to read Matthew 18.  When I read verse 19 I had a thought...

Matthew 18: 19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

Now I don't want to take this out of context and presume it some sort of "magic formula" but this is what stood out at me -- Jesus himself is saying it is important for us to share out prayer concerns with others so that they can pray with us for the things that are concerning us.  How often have I not wanted to 'bother' others with my piddly little concerns?

He cares.  And he wants us to share our concerns with others who will pray with and for us.

Have a blessed day.
Love,
Dana

I too tend to more often ask a few friends to pray with me when it's concerning something 'big', but then also neglect to consider my 'little' problems and concerns worth sharing.

Thank you for this wonderful reminder to not only remember to ask for others to pray along side me, but to also ask them what I can stand beside them and pray about as well!
