I'll have to really talk Sam into a picture. He's self-conscious...
I love the sewing desk!!
So sorry about the stormy weather. Glad y'all are all okay!
Matt has this old 91 Chevy S-10 that he finally decided to park and take off his insurance. It's been sitting here for a couple of months so I suggested he put an ad in the free paper. It came out yesterday. I/We/He had nine calls yesterday on it. The second guy that came... was an entertainer for college females... Matt said he was very proud of his profession. He was very skinny with earrings and tattoos and a meth-head. Sam and Luke were out there with Matt. I think it went over Luke's head but I had to explain to Sam what a e.f.c.f. is... oy!
Then this other guy called. It was dark already, but he wanted to come. Said he had $600 in cash. He really, really wanted to come so Matt said 'ok'. He didn't get here until after 9:30. He offered $400. Matt said no. He offered $450. Matt said no. He really wanted the truck. He left. Matt stayed a little while and then he left. About five minutes after Matt left he called back. Tony called Matt, Matt called the guy. They came back to our house. Guy offered $475. Matt said no. He finally offered $500. It's 11pm now. The guy has only seen the truck in the dark using headlights from his truck. It's such a piece of junk... I don't get why all these guys were so excited over it?
The driver's side door doesn't open unless you know 'the trick'. The driver's window is stuck in the 3/4 up position. The truck needs an O2 sensor... and who knows what else. Anyway, when the first guy called and we knew he was coming over, Sam went out the open the doors and air the truck out. Guess what he found?? You have to guess.
Did I tell you I got an order last week? A homeschooling mom here emailed and said "Do you remember that baby quilt and toy you made for my Aaron? I love them and would like you to make a set for my friend's baby. The shower is July 25." aawww... except I have no recollection of making a toy for her baby. Now what? I was embarrassed but I told her and asked for a photo. She sent it yesterday. I didn't make it! LOL Whew! I'm not going crazy after all. Molly helped pick out the fabric and I got the top done last night. I'll get some pics done today.
Speaking of today, the boys are going to paint the barn floors today so hopefully tomorrow we can start building the walls and doors. The barn is open on the east side. One side was already open, the other side was closed in with a doorway but the wall was in bad shape so we took it down. It's all covered with tarps for now.
What else? Oh, yes. I finally made it to the grocery yesterday so today the boys have to do the meat and I want to get the next week's baking done. MaryVance is the kitchen helper for today. Luke is going to do school. Molly is going to be me. LOL Hopefully we can get a lot done. I'd like to get this quilt and toy finished this weekend too.
Oh and I'm working on a family cloth order. This lady sent me $35 and said "Oh just make however many you can with that money, I don't care about prints..." I didn't do the math until I went in the sewing room to start cutting them out. 67 wipes. THUD. I'm about halfway done. And I still have an old hairbow order sitting here... why am I putting that off? I just have so much to do... and I keep forgetting or remembering at the wrong time about them.
The buffet is still covered with stuff from the old sewing area that needs to be moved to the new sewing area. I have to find homes for all of that. And there are about six boxes of 'Wonder Unders' fabrics and supplies sitting in the dining room. I had them all boxed up for Ruth. Now what? Where am I going to put them?? And what am I going to do with the business? Decisions, decisions. I think the first thing is going to be trying to sell the fabric in huge lots on eBay. If that doesn't work then we will do the selling patterns and diaper kits route. I think that will be fun and easy and okay.
Okay, I better get off here and get busy.
Oh yeah, I wanted to tell you... Molly was reading your About Dana section and she cracked up at the 'slow to speak, slow to anger' part. She said "She really doesn't know you very well, does she?" LOL Oh dear... I am slow to anger but I am not slow to speak... -blush-
Love to all,
